Teacher Tater Night: Emmie takes First Place!

Emily Ann and Drew both worked hard to decorate their tater to look like their favorite AWANA teacher!  We had a lot of fun with this project...

The results are in:  Emmie took First Place winning a blue ribbon and a bag of Utz potato chips!  Drew also won a smaller bag of chips.
Gotta love AWANA Teacher Tater Night!!!

Reflections from Guatemala By: Jake

We showed God's love in Guatemala by building a house, playing soccer with the kids, and helping kids with disabilities at the orphanage/hospital.

My favorite memory was when we went to the Mayan Ruins because it was so interesting.  We learned a lot of facts and history about how the first Mayans built their village.  I also liked going to the market and what we could buy there.  It was fun to watch my Dad barter with the people selling.  Another favorite memory I have is visiting the Catholic cathedrals because they had a lot of statues and were interesting.

During our time in Guatemala, I was lucky and glad that I didn't have to eat beans and tacos.  The church fed us sandwiches for lunch.  The ladies at the hotel made breakfast for us, and it was just like what we would eat at home.  The church made our dinners.

It was the dry season while we were in Guatemala.  We did have 2 nights of rain.  It stayed above 70 degrees during the day.  It was cool in the mornings.

I would like to go back to Guatemala.  I would like to go back to help in the orphanage and play soccer with the children.
